Facebook removes video of President of Brazil Vaccine misinformation

Facebook and YouTube, a subsidiary of Alphabet, have deleted a video of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro because he is spreading false information about the new coronavirus vaccine. In the video, Bolsonaro made a statement linking the corona vaccine to AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome).

The video was shot on the 21st, and both Facebook and YouTube have determined that the content is against their own policies.

A Facebook spokeswoman said, “Our policy does not allow claims that the corona vaccine can kill or cause serious harm.”

“Bolsonaro’s video was deleted because it violated our policy on medical false information about the new coronavirus infection, including claiming that the vaccine does not reduce the risk of infection and causes other infections,” YouTube said.

The Joint United Nations Program on HIV / AIDS (UNAIDS) has stated that the corona vaccine approved by health authorities is safe for most people, including those infected with HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) that causes AIDS.
